Sony DPP-F700 Digital Frame with Built-in Printer
Sony introduced a new multitasking Digital photo frame, the Sony DPP-F700, in its S-Frame lineup that features a built-in printer.
The sleek, all-in-one device allows both photo viewing and printing. When measured diagonally, the Sony DPP-F700 has a 7-inch,16:10 LCD display with WVGA (800x480) resolution, and it prints 4x6-inch 300x300-dpi photos in just 45 seconds.
You can edit your pictures before printing with options like enlarge, reduce, crop, date stamp on/off, border/borderless, and brightness, contrast, hue and sharpness adjustment. There is a creative print mode where you can choose from more than 30 templates to make a calendar with pictures, print an ID photo or create a “layout print” with multiple images on one sheet. Other print preferences include the ability to print exactly what is displayed on the screen during a slideshow using the frame’s screen capture function.
The Sony DPP-F700 has about one gigabyte of internal storage and an auto-resizing adjustment that lets you downsize files so you can store up to 2,000 photos in it. You can even transfer images with a direct USB input from a PC or from most memory cards, including Memory Stick Pro, MS Pro Duo, Secure Digital, SDHC, MMC, CompactFlash and xD-Picture Card media.
Additional features include an auto orientation sensor that rotates photos into portrait or landscape format according to the placement, whether the frames is positioned vertically or horizontally. There is a remote control that allows you to manage the features including print modes. Multiple playback options, including displaying photos as single images, thumbnails for searching or slideshows with 10 transitions and support for JPEG, TIFF and BMP image formats are all included.
The Sony DPP-F700 digital photo frame-printer, which comes with a paper tray, AC adapter, print driver/PMB CD, manual, cleaning kit and stand, will be available for about $200 in January. Optional print packs, the SVM-F40P (40 sheets of photo paper and cartridge) and SVM-F120P (120 sheets of photo paper and cartridges) will also be available. For even more details, visit sony.com.
