Bogen Imaging Now Manfrotto Distribution
Bogen has changed it's name to Manfrotto
Bogen Imaging announced it has changed its corporate name to Manfrotto Distribution, effective January 1, 2010.
The name change is part of the Vitec Group, Imaging & Staging Division, strategy to address the fast-growing amateur high-end point-and-shoot and Four Thirds systems digital SLR camera sectors.
According to Paul Wild, president of the new company, Manfrotto will be offering an expanded line of products aimed at the entry-level DSLR owner and top-end point-and-shoot owners, thus expanding their influence to a broader audience. “I must emphasize, however, that this will be done without loss of focus on our traditional enthusiast and professional photographic, video and lighting users that will remain our core market,” he added.
The company plans to develop new categories, taking the Manfrotto brand beyond tripods and heads to maximize offerings in the new amateur sector. The Bogen name change will be rolled out in Germany, France, Italy, UK, Japan and the USA, where Bogen Imaging companies have existed.
The Manfrotto Group is the head of the Imaging and Staging division of Vitec Group PLc, a multinational quoted on the London stock exchange.
The Imaging and Staging division is a leader in designing, producing and distributing professional supports, bags and protective gear for the photographic, video and entertainment markets. Manfrotto Distribution offers the following product lines: Manfrotto, Gitzo, Avenger, Kata and National Geographic bags.
