Wayne, NJ—Two JVC pocket cameras, the Picsio GC-WP10 and GC-FM2, feature Full HD video, low-light performance, a 3.0-inch touch screen and compatibility with Eye-Fi cards for Wi-Fi connectivity. The GC-WP10 is also waterproof to 10 feet and comes with an MP3 audio recorder.

The Picsio CMOS image sensor captures stills at 5 megapixel native resolution and records 1,920x1080p 30-fps Full HD video with image stabilization for viewing on an HDTV via HDMI output. Users can select from four recording resolutions: Full HD 1080; HD 720 (1,280x720, 60p); iFrame (960x540, 30p); and Q HD (960x540, 30p). Time-lapse recording is also provided, which reduces hours-long segments to seconds.
JVC also notes that the 3.0-touch screen functions are “easily operated even when wearing gloves for all-season fun.” And for editing and uploading, LoiLoScope EX for Windows software is factory installed. The software, which enables direct uploading to YouTube and Facebook and exports to iTunes, launches when the camera is connected to a PC. Special effects are available for creative editing, supported by icon-based access and drag-and-drop operation. File output for DVD creation is also available.
Both Picsio pocket cameras work with iMovie on the Mac and offer options to record video in the iFrame format, a computer-friendly video format designed to simplify video editing and sharing. In addition to support for Eye-Fi wireless cards, the Picsio’s come with an SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot. The GC-FM2 also features a slide-out USB connector, so no connecting cable is needed. As a convenience, a USB cable is provided and an AC adapter is available optionally. Both cameras charge through their USB connection.
JVC’s Picsio GC-FM2 retails in September for $179.95 and comes in three color choices. The Picsio GC-WP10 will have an MSRP of $199.95.
