Entire Police Force Quits After Winning Lottery

Hungarian luck has struck the police force, but not the town of Budaörs. Their entire police force in the town of Budaörs, Hungary, quit after winning more than $16 million in the lottery. The 15 officers presented their lottery ticket and quit on the spot. Each of the lucky winning officers will receive more than $1.1 million. Police chiefs are scrambling to pull together back-up units to serve the area until more full-time officers can be recruited. Hungary's lottery requires the winner to pick five out of 90 numbers on the ticket correctly, and each ticket costs the equivalent of $.50....

Photographer Irving Penn - His Death Drives Up Prices at Auction

With the death of Irving Penn happening just one day before Christie's in New York was to auction off a selection of his photos, the prices for the photographs doubled what the estimate originally was. The photographs were breathtaking, as you would expect from Irving Penn, but they were not among his most iconic images. Even still, the photographs brought in a total of $492,850, more than double the auction house's total estimate of $235,000.
