Olympus and National Park Foundation Launch Share the Experience Photo Contest

Olympus Share the Experience Photo ContestCenter Valley, PA—The National Park Foundation and Olympus launched the 2010 Share the Experience photo contest, touted as the “largest national park and public land photo contest for amateur photographers.”

The contest runs now through December 31, 2010, and the grand prize winner’s photo will be featured on an America the Beautiful Federal Recreation Lands pass, with all winners receiving prizes from Olympus.

“We always tell people in parks to take only pictures and leave only footprints,” said Neil Mulholland, president and CEO of the National Park Foundation. “Our annual photo contest is a great reason to get outside and help capture the incredible spaces and places preserved in our national parks.”

As the official photo contest of America’s national parks and federal recreation lands, Share the Experience showcases the more than 500 million acres of Federal lands and draw entries from all across the United States. Along with Olympus and the National Park Foundation, it is sponsored by the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Forest Service.

Amateur photographers can participate in the contest by uploading their photos through Facebook, Flickr, Shutterfly or directly at sharetheexperience.org. A complete list of prizes and rules for the contest are available at nationalparks.promo.eprize.com/experiencecontest2010/public/fulfillment/rules.pdf.
