I don't have an iPhone but I have an iPod Touch, which, when I got it, I figured would not be of much use to me. I was wrong. Because of apps, I use the little bugger all the time - my iPod touch is always at hand. I know people who won't make a move without their iPhone, or some other-brand sort-of equivalents. They app themselves through each day. Do you?
The people at Apple told me, "It's the apps!" when I asked them what's so cool about these iPods and iPhones. And they are dead spot on. On Twitter (get an account and follow me on Twitter) some folks are syaing the apps are just baggage, but I'll bet you disagree.
Here, from the DigitalGrandparent, PhotoDistrictNews and a few others, a list of cool apps, cheap:
- Tiltshift - even out the depth of field's focus.
- OldBooth - make your photos look funny, vintage, or enhance them
- Picoli - the $3 photo editing tool
- Pano - make gorgeous panoramas.
- Pandora - love music? Create your own radio station that follows your personal taste in music.
- AroundMe - shows you all the shops, restaurants, hospitals, whatever that are nearby your location.
- Classics - phenominal!! You get a reader and 100 classic books, free or dirt cheap. Looks like book pages, very readable.
- Wordjong - gets me through long lines, doctor waiting rooms, waiting for conference calls - cool game-a-day word game that takes only five minutes to play a round.
