If you have a tube TV, an analog TV, one that doesn't recognize digital televsion signals, you might want to turn up the flame and heat your pot a bit faster if you haven't come to a boil on getting ready for digital TV. The Feds slammed the proposed delay of the deadline date, even though Barrack Obama was in favor, and TV broadcasting goes digital once and for all Feb 17, 2009.
To Review the DTV Situation:
In order to continue watching TV after the 16th of February, each of us needs a decoder box or a digital-ready television receiver unless we have cable, satellite or some other service (like UVerse Digital from AT&T or Verizon's version).
The converter boxes are still available, for around $40 and up, from your local big box electronics store. The coupons from the government to help defray that cost are not available right now. Might be later - like maybe end of spring...April!
If you had a coupon and it expired, you can't get another one.
You will need an outdoor antenna to receive anything at all, once you have your converter box.
