Noon, EST. Barrack Obama is being inaugurated as I write this and it's an awesome sight seeing Washington D.C. filled with passionate Americans.
"So help me, God," Obama says, with a strong smile. I hope so.
"Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. Every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. In these moments America has carried on...because we, the people, have remaind faithful to the ideals of our forebearers. That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood," he said, elaborating - our nation is at war, our economy is badly weakend. And he put the blame on all and went on to say that we will persevere.
"Less measurable, but no less profound is the sagigng of confidence across America today. I say to you, the challenges we face are real. They are serious and many. They will not be met easily or in a short period of time. But know this, America; they will be met. We have chosen hope over fear. "
We all look at the coming year with trepidation. Who knows what will happened to us economically? Where will the world and national economies end up? We can't say. I pray Obama can do this job.
I hope we come out strong and fine. I cross my fingers that he, his family and our nation weather the strong currents against us. He promises so much. He will not be able to keep all those promises, but if he can even manage just one, to bring honesty and ethics to our government, then we shall overcome.
And pray for our military people, please.
