Casio is debuting four new Exilim digital models, each building on its tradition of delivering technological innovation and creativity to users. Joining the Exilim EX-H15, EX-Z2000 and EX-Z550, with their enhanced dynamic photo function, is the High Speed Exilim EX-FH100.
The EX-FH100 is a compact 10.1MP camera with a 24mm wide-angle 10x optical zoom lens. It can take 30 shots of 9 megapixel images with high-speed burst shooting at a maximum speed of 40 shots per second. A mode dial enables manual exposure burst shooting, and it has a mode to make high-speed burst shooting easy, a feature that sets the burst speed to the optimal rate by selecting the type of scene. And, if the camera is set to prerecord continuous shutter, users won’t miss the moment even if they press the shutter a little late, since the camera starts shooting when the shutter button is depressed halfway.
The camera also records movies at 1,000 fps to capture motion ordinarily too fast for the human eye to see. Users can select recording speeds of 1,000 fps, 420 fps, 240 fps or 120 fps. The high-speed recording allows users to experience ultra slow-motion playback, with one second of a movie recorded at 420 fps being played back over 14 seconds at 30 fps. The EX-FH100 also records 1,280x720 HD movies and is equipped with an HDMI terminal and stereo microphone for viewing on an HDTV.
Other features include a back-illuminated CMOS sensor for low-noise photos in dim lighting, utilizing CMOS-shift image stabilization; a best shot mode with night scene and portrait; and high-speed burst shooting best shot / high-speed movie best shot that optimize the burst shooting or high-speed movie settings by selecting the type of scene. $349.
