I've always been a fan of JetBlue Airlines and will choose them nine times out of ten for all my business travel. Unfortunately a
string of incidents on board their
planes -- including several I've witnessed on my own of uncharacteristically rude service -- has given me pause. The latest atrocity on board a JetBlue flight involves a 56-year-old grandmother who was arrested after shooting a video with her digital camera of a fight between passengers. It seems both the JetBlue flight crew and, particularly, the police overreacted after the woman refused to delete the footage of the fight. The incident -- which occurred on a flight between JFK Airport in NYC and McCarren International Airport in Las Vegas -- was
covered in the Kingman Daily Miner, a newspaper in Arizona and has been picked up by the mainstream media. Expect this piece to get a lot of play in the coming weeks.
Very sad that a once great company seems to be succumbing to the pressure of the beleaguered airline industry. Unfortunately, most of the other domestic carriers are even worse.
