Fremont, CA—Logitech unveiled four HD webcams that work with its recently announced Logitech Vid HD, a free way to make HD video calls. Highlighting the line is the flagship HD Pro Webcam C910, which offers 720p HD video calling, Full HD 1080p video recording, one-click HD-uploading to Facebook and YouTube, and, like the other new HD webcams, Logitech Fluid Crystal technology, to ensure “each video call and recording offers crystal clear images with smooth, fluid motion and rich, true-to-life colors.”
“HD video calling is a critical step toward our vision of a world in which video communication is as mainstream and seamless as a telephone call—for anyone, anywhere,” said Eric Kintz, vice president and general manager of Logitech’s video business. “With Logitech HD webcams and Vid HD, you have everything you need to share, to connect, to see the people that matter to you in breathtaking detail that far surpasses the quality of embedded webcams.”
As social networking has become an almost essential part of day-to-day life for millions, all Logitech’s new HD webcams record and upload HD videos to Facebook or YouTube with one click. The included Magix photo- and video-editing software helps polish the rough edges before video goes viral, and the included picture and video gallery enables owners to store their memories.
The four HD webcams also permit users to take snapshots and e-mail them. The C910 takes 10 megapixel (MP) photos; the C510 produces 8MP snapshots; the C310 webcam captures 5MP pictures; and the C270 takes 3MP still photos.
HD Pro Webcam C910. This top-of-the-line HD webcam lets you record video in Full HD 1080p and make video calls in HD 720p, and it also provides stereo audio with two mics—one on either side of its Carl Zeiss lens. The sleek device is 25mm deep and has a modern minimalist design.
HD Webcam C510. The portable C510 has a fold-and-go design so you can take it to the office or on trips. The pocketable webcam has a 360-degree full-rotation so it can be swiveled around to include more people on video calls and recordings.
Logitech Vid HD. To easily transmit two-way live video in HD, Logitech launched Vid HD as a free, fast way to make an HD video call. It is included with all new Logitech webcams, as well as available for free download at logitech.com/vid.
The Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910 will be available in August for a suggested retail price of $99.99. The HD Webcam C510 is now available for an MSRP of $59.99. The HD Webcam C310 ($49.99) and C270 ($39.99) will also be available in June. logitech.com/webcams
