Printer Review
Lake Success, NY—Canon USA’s new Selphy CP800 compact photo printer boasts a 2.5-inch tilt LCD screen and a “shuffle” feature to enhance its ease of use and functionality.
The size and portability of the Selphy CP800, along with its optional battery pack, make it possible to produce immediate photos from almost anywhere. And, its shuffle feature provides a new way to share memories by selecting images from a memory card that can be compiled all on one 4x6-inch print.
Other helpful functions include: a smooth skin feature that produces more natural skin tones; an image optimizer that aids in correcting exposure and adjusts the brightness, contrast and sharpness of images; and a portrait image optimize feature that automatically delivers face detection, backlight correction and noise reduction.
“The addition of the Selphy CP800 compact photo printer to our product lineup further demonstrates Canon’s commitment to providing consumers with high-quality digital imaging solutions that are fun for all ages,” said Yuichi Ishizuka, executive vice president and general manager, Consumer Imaging, Canon USA. “With new features and a quick, easy-to-use interface, this new Selphy is the perfect addition for anyone interested in creating keepsake photos from special events.”
Specs say the Selphy CP800 prints a 4x6-inch “high-quality photo in approximately 47 seconds that is capable of lasting up to 100 years while maintaining its brilliance.” Users can also print photos without a computer by printing directly from memory cards or using the PictBridge connection. $99.99. usa.canon.com
