Enter the Nikon Film Festival and You Could Win $100,000
Nikon
Nikon launched a brand new film festival today based around the theme “A Day Through Your Lens.” Though it might sound odd for a camera company to create a "film" festival, Nikon was the first company to produce a digital SLR which could also shoot HD video clips.
The contest, which is open to aspiring filmmakers, includes a chance to win a a $100,000 grand prize and Nikon gear.
To promote the festival Nikon has enlisted a group of A-list celebs and Internet superstars to act as celebrity judges to evaluate 140-second long user submissions from aspiring filmmakers and photographers. Judges include pioneering photographer and filmmaker Chase Jarvis , actor Rainn Wilson from NBC’s The Office, and Internet queen and actress “iJustine” Ezarik.
Those celebrities have also created videos of their own to get the ball rolling. Below you can check out Rainn Wilson's 140-second masterpiece which combines pets, ping pong, dance moves and life’s biggest questions. It was shot in six hours on the Nikon D5000 with multiple NIKKOR lenses.
To enter the contest, DemystifyingDigital readers should visit www.NikonFestival.com to submit their videos, vote and see the videos created by the judges.
Submissions will be accepted between today and December 15th. Users can also follow it on Twitter @NikonFestival, or check out the Nikon Festival Facebook fan page.
