PowerShot SD4500 IS Digital Elph
Lake Success, NY—Elevating the “power” in PowerShot, Canon USA announced three enhanced PowerShot models—the PowerShot S95, SD4500 IS and SX130 IS, featuring Canon’s HS (high sensitivity) system for improved low-light shooting in the S95 and SD4500 IS, HD (high definition) video recording, HDR (high dynamic range) in the S95 and a more intelligent smart auto mode.
These PowerShots are engineered to capture the shot with low-light settings and their HS system, which combines Canon’s Digic 4 image processor with a 10 megapixel HS CCD sensor in the S95 and a CMOS sensor in the SD4500 IS to enhance image quality and help reduce noise at high ISOs. It also helps accentuate details in images with decreased lighting.

HD video and stereo sound recording is available on all three, and Canon’s smart auto feature now has 28 shooting scenes to help automatically adjust to different lighting or movement levels. Another new feature is the “best image selection” option found in the SD4500 IS, where with one click of the shutter button, the camera shoots five sequential shots and saves the best shot based on a person’s movement and facial expressions. Also new in the SD4500 IS is handheld night scene that, without the use of a tripod, helps reduce camera shake.
PowerShot S95. Featuring 720p HD video capability, in-camera HDR scene mode and Hybrid IS technology that compensates for angular and shift camera shake (particularly useful in macro shooting), the camera has a f/2.0, 3.8x optical zoom lens that opens up to 28mm wide and includes Canon’s Optical Image Stabilization technology, and a manual control ring that lets advanced shooters access manual control options and RAW shooting capabilities. $399.99.
PowerShot SD4500 IS Digital Elph. Boasting a 10x optical zoom with optical image stabilization, it features: 1080p Full HD video with smart auto; dynamic IS mode to help stabilize video while the photographer is in motion; super slow motion video mode capable of capturing a subject at 240 frames per second (fps); and an 8.4-fps high-speed burst mode. Available in brown, it has the Elph’s slim, curvy body. $349.99.
PowerShot SX130 IS. With extreme telephoto capabilities, this ultrazoom camera has a 12x image stabilized optical zoom lens, 3.0-inch LCD and 720p HD video and stereo sound recording with miniature effect movie mode, which creates the illusion where large objects are shown in miniature proportions.
