Sanyo’s Waterproof Full HD Video-Capable Dual Camera Xacti VPC-CA102YL
Camcorder Review
Chatsworth, CA—Sanyo North America introduced the waterproof Full HD (1,920x1080) Dual Camera Xacti VPC-CA102YL for active lifestylers. The camera can record more than 480 minutes of 1,080 Full HD video on a single 64GB SDXC card and 14 megapixel photos 10 feet below the water’s surface.
Designed for indoor or outdoor adventures, the all-weather VPC-CA102YL fits in the palm of the hand and is small enough to be carried in a pocket.
Sanyo Dual Cameras use the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video format to make sharing videos online, on blogs or on other multimedia sites simple. The media created can also be edited and exported to portable media devices. Photos and videos can be displayed in Full HD resolution on HDTVs.
“Dual Cameras are packed with features and offer incredible flexibility,” said Tom Van Voy, vice president and general manager, Digital Solutions, Sanyo North America. “This is the ‘take everywhere’ camera; water, snow, or land. Getting great HD video and still images is incredibly easy with the new CA102YL.”
With a 5x optical zoom, the camera uses proprietary “double-range zoom” operation while filming video—with 12x zoom available from wide angle to telephoto for capturing distant objects (equivalent to 40-480mm). In addition, its high-speed sequential shooting mode enables capturing 22 photos at 7 frames per second.
The Xacti VPC-CA102YL has a vertical-shaped yellow body with gray accents, and its new Sanyo high-speed image processing engine contributes to its small size (5.5 oz.). Files can be saved to SD, SDHC or extended capacity SDXC (2TB) memory cards as well as Eye-Fi wireless cards. There are multiple video and photo modes for flexibility in memory use, and its battery allows about 60 minutes of continuous filming in Full HD mode. $349.99. us.sanyo.com
