Canon USA Expands Vixia Line with HF M32 Dual Flash Memory Camcorder
Dual Flash Memory Camcorder
Lake Success, NY—Canon’s Vixia HF M32 dual flash memory camcorder is offered as “an easy-to-use, moviemaking tool capable of hours upon hours of high-quality HD video recording.”
The M32 provides a touch-panel LCD, 64GB of internal flash memory to record 24 hours of HD video, and an SD memory card slot compatible with SDXC cards from 32GB to 2TB.
Like its predecessors in the Vixia HF M series, packed in the M32’s compact, lightweight body is Canon’s proprietary imaging technologies: a Canon HD video lens; HD CMOS sensor; and a Digic DV III image processor.
Other features include: smart auto, which automatically analyzes brightness, color, distance and movement and selects the best setting; touch & track, which enables users to select a subject on the LCD that will be recognized and tracked; relay recording for capturing uninterrupted video when the primary recording media is full, by switching from one memory source to the other; HD-to-SD downconversion to convert recorded HD video to standard-def files while preserving the original HD video; and advanced video snapshot, which allows the capture of two-, four- or eight-sec clips while recording or during playback.
In addition to Canon’s Dynamic SuperRange optical image stabilization, the M32’s Powered IS provides a higher level of compensation for subtle hand movement at the telephoto end of the zoom range.
The camcorder is also compatible with Eye-Fi SD memory cards, which allows it to wirelessly transfer video content and photos to a computer or sharing site. And, Canon’s WP-V2 waterproof case permits users to capture HD footage 130 feet underwater. The Canon WP-V2 Waterproof Case is currently available for an estimated retail price of $599.
The Vixia HF M32 dual flash memory camcorder will reach retail in September. $999.99. usa.canon.com
